Weekend Camping
Check List

Our camp checklist for weekends away

Must Haves

  • A Long Line, usually we take a normal lead length that can be dropped but also a 5 or 10 meter so she can have freedom on hikes and walks

  • A car harness and seat belt plug, always great to have a harness, we use ours for traveling in the car

  • A ground peg, this is so useful when we are setting up the tent, attaching her to this with the long line means we don't have to worry about her going anywhere

  • Travel dog bowls, for water, and for food or even a lick matt

  • A life jacket, if we are paddle boarding or going on a boat

  • Poop bags, these aren't usually available free out of the city

  • Towels, can never have too many towels but we always need them especially for her feet at night coming into the tent

  •  A dog bed, we have a raised bed for use around camp and a snuggle bed for the tent which she loves at night

  • Food, we are lucky to have a fridge in our car so we can take all her fresh food with us and feed her a mixture of this and the fresh food we eat. If we don't have the fridge, Ziwi Peak is our go to dry food along with their can wet food in emergencies

  • A long lasting chew, if we go to a pub or even at night by the fire we like to give Alma a long lasting chew. It gives her something to do and also chewing helps calm her in unfamiliar locations

  • Tick & Fleas treatment, we always make sure that this is up to date especially camping

  • Toys, tugs & balls, for playing of course :)

  • Brushes, I leave a line comb in the car permanently incase there are grass seeds or bindies, its hard to get them out with just your hands
